چکیده

The selection of activating agents for the thermochemical creation high-grade activated carbon (AC) from agricultural residues and wastes, like feedstock, requires innovative techniques. Overcoming energy losses, using best methods to minimize secondary contamination increase absorptivity, are critical. present review focuses on study synthesis characteristics low cost carbon. Various investigators focus physico-chemical characterization AC prepared waste low-cost materials TGA, FTIR, XRD, SEM Physical properties bulk volatile matter content, moisture density, surface area, ash porosity, apparent acid iodine number, fixed carbon, soluble matter, pH were investigated analysed in detail by various researchers. Here, we also importance influence H3PO4, KOH, CaCl2, ZnCl2, H2SO4 discuss some preparation AC. These used researchers activation performed at conditions. covers adsorption isotherms that developed their work.

Preparation and Characterization of Activated Carbon derived from olive stone as adsorbent for Congo Red

Carbon activated powdered was prepared from activated carbon derived from olive stone. Then byusing the surface methodology, many parameters such as pH, furnace temperature (T), acid ratio, time of activation that affect on the qualities prepared activated carbon produced and its efficiencywere investigated. In addition, the adsorption of Congo Red onto the activated olive stone carbonactive was...

Porous Materials from Thermally Activated Kaolinite: Preparation, Characterization and Application

In the present study, porous alumina/silica materials were prepared by selective leaching of silicon/aluminum constituents from thermal-activated kaolinite in inorganic acid or alkali liquor. The correlations between the characteristics of the prepared porous materials and the dissolution properties of activated kaolinite were also investigated. The results show that the specific surface area (...

Preparation and characterization of activated carbon from rice bran.

A study on the preparation of rice bran-based activated carbon was conducted, with and without an acid treatment step prior the activation process. The influence of the activation time on the structure of the activated carbons was evaluated. The acid treatment had a significant positive influence on sorption properties. The rice bran-activated carbon presented a BET surface area of 652m(2)g(-1)...

Adsorption of Safranin-T from wastewater using waste materials- activated carbon and activated rice husks.

Textile effluents are major industrial polluters because of high color content, about 15% unfixed dyes and salts. The present paper is aimed to investigate and develop cheap adsorption methods for color removal from wastewater using waste materials activated carbon and activated rice husk-as adsorbents. The method was employed for the removal of Safranin-T and the influence of various factors s...

Removal of Methyl Orange Dye from Aqueous Solution by a Low-Cost Activated Carbon Prepared from Mahagoni (Swietenia mahagoni) Bark

This study utilized Swietenia mahagoni bark–a wood processing industry waste, for the preparation of activated carbon, and then investigated for the removal of methyl orange (MO) dye by the Swietenia mahagoni bark activated carbon (SMBAC). The effect of pH (3–10), adsorbent dose (1–30 g/L), initial MO dye concentration (10–100 mg/L), and contact time (1–240 min) were evaluated...
